This is Willow - a Needle Felted Brown Hare
Created with 100% wool and black, glass eyes.
I used a beautiful Corriedale blend for this Brown hare, along with some white and black New Zealand Sheep carded wool for the details.
Willow the Brown Hare is sitting on a natural wooden slice covered in my “wild woolly woodland” Bluefaced Leicester curls.
Her whiskers are created using horse tail hair.
Willow is 8 inches tall, including the natural wooden slice.
Hares have always fascinated and inspired me. There are many myths and symbols associated with these amazing creatures throughout history.
I am extremely lucky to live in the sunny Suffolk countryside surrounded by fields. This needle felted woolly Brown Hare was inspired by the hares I watch from my kitchen window.
Willow was 100% needle felted and handmade by me. It took me over 4 and a half hours to needle felt Willow.
Although I adore needle felting hares, each one of my creations is One-of-kind and will never be the same as another piece.
All my needle felted creations are for decoration only and not for small children.
