When I visit the coast to collect materials for my artwork, I am often inspired by the cute little rustic cottages and I love making these from the wood, sea glass and shells that I find on my travels. It is a very bright and beautiful design and demonstrates a new, sustainable direction that I want to take with my work.

Full description
This unique and one-off stunning piece of art is perfect for a lover all things coastal and is made from reclaimed materials.
The design shows two little colourful and rustic coastal cottages set on a piece of driftwood with sea glass underneath depicting the ocean. The whole piece has been created by hand carving each individual piece, painting them and setting them onto a backing piece of reclaimed wood that has itself been sanded, hand painted and varnished. Extra embellishments in the form of shells, pine cones and lichen have been added to the miniature design to finish it off and provide finer details.
It is finished with a length of natural twine and will hang in a portrait position. The dimensions of the piece of wood are 25cm long, 12cm wide and 1cm thick. The total drop from the top of the twine to the bottom of the design is approx 41 cm.
