I remember when I started to learn to spin those lumpy, bumpy, wonderful art yarns I was always terrified of not doing justice to the fibre.
I've taken that worry away with great value beginner yarns that are nice and grippy (handle) and with long staple lengths, whilst you learn to draft and control the twist of the fibre. Plus they're pretty colours to feed your soul at a price you'll be happy to practice on.
Start with the Exmoor and progress to the Corriedale for a finer spin.
A rare breed originating from West Somerset and Devon producing a bulky fleece. This is a versatile wool, great for spinning, lots of volume and perfect for beginners.
Certified 100% British Wool Mark
Microns: 36-39mic
Fibre Length: 90-110mm
Corridedale wool is fine, beautifully soft and silky to the touch with a sheen like merino. It's my favourite wool to spin and it's also a good beginner fibre as it has a long staple.
Approx 25-30microns and staple length 80-120mm.
Hand dyed by me as shown.
