Formerly 'Buttons, Beads and Blanket Stitch'.
My work predominantly comprises hand cut and burnished lino prints, with sewing playing an occasional part.
Whether working in print or in stitch, I am inspired by the natural world and the people around me, with words/text frequently playing an integral part.
* I endeavour to represent my pieces as clearly and with colours as true to life as possible, however some slight variations in tone between the image on screen and the piece itself may occur.*
The plants in my house and garden are a year round inspiration. This print, on the most beautiful dark pink paper is a glorious celebration of the bold, joyful cyclamen.

Full description
This print is inspired by my fabulously blousy Cyclamen Persicum plant. With its big, bold shapes and lines it lends itself beautifully to reproduction in print form.
Having sketched and planned and decided on a simple strong representation of the plant, I transferred my final drawing onto a traditional hessian backed lino which I then hand cut and burnished in black ink onto a beautiful Rose ‘Lokta’, a stunning handmade paper from Nepal.
The deep pink is a nod to the colour of the cyclamen flowers, with the inconsistencies from piece to piece in terms of texture, forming a big part of the charm of this beautiful surface.
The printed image measures approx. 20cm x 30cm with the paper measuring 26cm x 38cm approx.
Each of this edition of 10 prints is numbered and signed and having been printed by hand, slight variations from print to print will occur; such is the beauty of a unique, hand crafted piece.
Your print will be posted to you wrapped in tissue and rolled within a cardboard tube. On its arrival, remove the print from the tube and allow it time to unfurl. (Lying the print on a flat surface under a heavy book may help to speed up the flattening process – do not be tempted to roll the print in the opposite way as this will almost certainly result in creasing and possibly damaging the print).
