At the moment I have a slight obsession with gorgeous indigo colour and pebbles!
This is my loose interpretation of a collection of pebbles, this time forming the edge of a pool.
For this piece I began with a piece of handmade paper I made many, many years ago! This gives a lovely texture to the edges beyond the pool.
The pool itself is a piece of deli paper, fine waxed paper overpainted in blues and a hint of gold.
I painted indigo pebbles, cutting out the shapes and outlining each with white ink before arranging and gluing them onto the background paper.
My inspiration comes from the organic shape and arrangement of pebbles and stones and how pleasing they look arranged together, with their different sizes and shapes.
I don't think I've ever grown out of cutting and sticking as a child!! :)

This one of a kind paper collage is part of a pebbles collection I am currently working on.
It is a simple mixed media piece exploring the simplicity and beauty of pebbles and stones, in this case, indigo painted looking somewhat like slate, arranged around a pool.
This affordable piece of artwork measures 13 x 15cm and comes unframed.
The lovely thing about a piece like this is it works either way, and can be displayed portrait or landscape.
Perfect to decorate your wall, or give as a gift for someone special.
It comes in a cello bag for protection, and will be posted securely wrapped with card and recycled packaging for protection. If you can reuse the bag and packaging please do :)
