At the moment I have a slight obsession with pebbles!
This is my loose interpretation of a collection of pebbles or stones as the ground out of which these lovely branches grow.
I began with a piece of previously painted watercolour paper as the background, then painting the edge border with bronze ink. The simple tree/ leaf shape is lino printed onto painted paper and cut out. Similarly with the stones, each one is cut out individually to create the ground out of which the tree grows.
A very hardy tree to grow out of stones! :)
My inspiration comes from a Coloricombo challenge on Instagram, playing with colours outside of my usual palette choice. Although here I've gone more for my usual choice of colours, blues and greens with a touch of bronze to contrast.
I don't think I've ever grown out of cutting and sticking as a child!! :)
