I have been to Ghana on my travels and was fascinated by the Adinkra fabric printing from the Ashanti region. Denkyem is one of many symbols traditionally printed using a tree bark mix onto fabric for ladies to wear at funerals. Today these symbols can be seen in many areas of modern Ghanaian life including being carved into wooden items or on t-shirts and other modern items of clothing.
