I love making traditional Dorset buttons and wanted to produce something respecting the heritage of the craft but given a contemporary edge and immensely wearable too.
For this posy brooch I was inspired by my mother who, watching me making a Dorset Cross Wheel button, said that it reminded her of a type of brooch she used to make in her youth and so this brooch was born!

This kit will enable you to create an attractive floral brooch.
It is suitable for all levels of expertise, and detailed instructions and illustrations are given for working the two embroidery stitches used.
The kit contains a 25 mm brass ring, suitable threads for both covering the ring and working the stems and the flowers, a blunt tapestry needle, a safety pin and full instructions for how to proceed with photographs showing each stage.
The thread colours are a bronze green colour and a variegated shades of pale blue thread for the flowers that gives a rich effect for minimal effort!
