I love to collage offcuts from prints and other paper artworks that I have, but settled on weaving for this unique work. Sifting, choosing and weaving the various pieces, triggered forgotten memories, the warp and weft of life, slowly evolving into this hanging. Reminded me of my mum's adage waste not want not!
I cut black bamboo from the garden, and mounted it on the black linen paper background. With gold tassels and black marbled paper wrapped frame, once behind glass, it added a preciousness and sense of age to the piece.

Full description
Unique mixed media piece, framed with glass, using cotton string and woven paper fragments from my artworks, photographs and hand printed/marbled papers. The paper and string were acrylic glazed for protection. The black bamboo was from my garden. The bamboo, tassels, and recycled frame, covered in black and gold hand marbled paper, give an aged precious look, like ancient scrolls. The glass being from a previous picture.
Size approx 59cm H x 44.5cm
NOTE
As this item has glass as an integral part of it, I will post signed for.
I may use recycled materials in the packaging.
