This piece was worked after a walk alongside heavily scented lavender fields near to my home. The last of the summer sun had ripened the lavender stalks to perfection;harvest was imminent.
The lavender oil is extracted, bottled and sold on the same site as the fields. I regularly use this oil for its calming properties.

Full description
A one-of-a-kind textile artwork, inspired by my walk in lavender fields just before harvest.
The picture is made from a fragment of fibre that was hand spun, hand knitted and hand fulled by me. I have then worked surface details in hand embroidery stitches.
Small in scale, a glimpse of a beautiful memory for a nature lover. This piece recreates the warmth of late summer and the scent of fragrant lavender.
I have double mounted this work in a 3" aperture, before displaying in a deep 6" glazed frame which allows the textiles space.
As you go through to checkout, you will be invited to make your choice of black or white frame, which can be displayed on a desk or wall.
PLEASE NOTE, PRICE INCLUDES UK SHIPPING!
