Amethyst is the birthstone for Aquarius and February, and the stone for the 6th and 33rd wedding anniversary.
It is also associated with St Valentine, who married young soldiers at a time when such marriages had been outlawed by Emperor Claudius II, who believed unwed men made better warriors.
It is said that Valentine wore an Amethyst ring engraved with a cupid so that the soldiers could recognise him.
Valentine was martyred on 14th February 269, and canonised in 496.

A beautiful, dainty, sparkly stretch bracelet.
Alternate bands of 4mm amethyst and 4mm mother-of-pearl beads are separated by glittering Swarovski "light amethyst" crystal bicones highlighted with tiny gold vermeil rounds.
The amethyst beads are a rich purple, and the mother-of-pearl beads are cream-and-white with a soft nacre sheen.
This bracelet measures approximately 6.5 inches (16cm).
Presented in a small organza gift bag.
