Unique handmade pottery thrown on a potter's wheel.
This ceramic teapot is made from stoneware pottery which means it is very durable. The clay gives a biscuit speckled colour which contrasts with the glaze. There are 3 lead free glazes applied to this teapot. Inside there is a clear gloss glaze, and on the outside a mat cream and a mat turquoise glaze. This glaze varies in texture and colour and where the glazes overlap there is a variation in colour to give the impression of a sea scape, making this teapot a one of a kind and unique.
The teapot body, lid and spout are first thrown then assembled and filter holes are put inside to keep the tealeaves or tea bag inside the pot. When it is leather hard, then turned and I add my makers mark. Once dry it is bisque fired then glazes are applied and it is fired again to 1220 oC. All glazes are lead free.

This listing is for 1 teapot, all jugs are handmade and made in small batches there will be some variation in colour and shape making each piece wonderfully unique.
