Full description
A hand woven unisex cowl in charcoal black hand dyed merino wool with stripes of bright colours randomly placed throughout the weft and there is subtle sparkle throughout too. The bright streaks of colour are all hand dyed wool, some dyed by me some by other indie dyers. There is a stripe of beige running along the length of one side of the cowl. The focal point of the scarf is an abstract embroidery design that has been hand stitched onto a piece of essex linen and wrapped around the cowl. The cowl is long enough to be wrapped around the neck making it lovely and cosy for the cooler months.
The woven cloth reminded me of fireworks in the night sky so when I sewed it up into a cowl I had to embroider a design that was reminiscent of those colourful displays. The embroidery is a design of concentric circles in red, blue and yellow. This cosy cowl is woven in a mix of fibres including merino, wool and alpaca with a hint of silver stellina. Alpaca is known to be warmer than sheep's wool and is very soft, it is perfect to wear in the winter. The woven cloth itself is beautiful with a soft handle and wonderful drape. It would make a perfect gift for someone special or a very yummy treat for yourself
