This image has been rattling around my brain for the longest time.
I love abandoned sea life along the shoreline, discarded by the sea as it retreats to low tide. Particularly the colourful sea flora.
I live just above Porthminster Beach which has a rich, constantly changing shoreline & beautiful fine, very sticky sand grains - including tiny shell parts & black grains which I believe is from cassiterite, from which tin is extracted, or some other mining spoil - Sometimes the black grains collect in the troughs of sand-waves, stunningly striking…

A wreath of shoreline sea life. Beautiful sea flora in dark greens & dusky pinks and sea worn shells & sand in sandy golden yellow.
Wreaths, an ancient symbol of eternity often floral or made from, oak, ivy, olive, laurel, vines & wheat. Also represented gold & worn as crowns. Harvest wreaths are hung to protect against crop failure. Floral wreaths worn by brides & are also hung from Maypoles to celebrate the coming of spring, midsummer &, of course, midwinter. Completing the life cycle, Wreaths are used to commemorate.
This is an original LinoCut Card, handprinted on beautiful artist paper in 3 colours, with info on the back hand-set in letterpress, hand inked & printed on my ancient Albion Press.

It's very hard to convey, in a photograph, the truly beautiful physical quality of the ink & it's colour on this gorgeously soft-to-touch paper - very tactile!
The photos disguise the soft matt quality of the paper & ink
Cards will vary slightly due to the nature of hand production making each card unique & original
