My abstract fabric collages are inspired by long walks at the sea, inland footpaths and local woodland.
During the pandemic, walking in the outdoors became my solace. As everyday life disintegrated, the footpaths became my constant. I began representing this disintegration in my work. Fragments of fabric, cut and torn from their whole. Hand stitching -slow and meditative.
Reassembled, reworked, something new.
This has been my journey at a time like no other.

A unique abstract artwork, featuring hand stitching and embroidery. Framed and ready to hang or freestanding.
I have selected a palette of sandy coloured fabric fragments, highlighted with sea blues. I have arranged and handstitched these snippets, before embellishing with decorative embroidery stitches.
Textural stitching marks the path of the receding tide and the starfish that now lie exposed.
This whimsical work will make a lovely reminder of seaside walks and rockpool adventures.
This work is presented to you in a glazed 6" square frame - your choice of black or white frame is made when you add this item to your basket. The frame is suitable for desk or wall display.
