Handmade Christmas Mug
A Winters Night
MADE TO ORDER - 2-3 weeks process time
A stunning Winters Night scene.
Handmade stoneware mug, formed with slabs of flecked clay in my West Cornwall studio, Sparrows Nest.
This is a luxury mug, holding over 400mls, perfect for those winters nights snuggled up by the fire with a hot chocolate and the perfect mug for dunking biscuits!
The clay is rolled out and the mug formed by hand. The mug then dries for about a week before it receives its first firing (bisque fire), then the glazing process takes place and then I fire again to 1220 degree Celsius. This luxury mug then has real gold added, 22 carat gold lustre is added to stars in the night sky, the mug is then fired for a third time.
This mug was inspired from time spent travelling up the Norwegian coastline up across the Artic Circle. Beautiful white flecked snow scene, with blue and green skies with hints to the northern lights.
The beauty of handmade is that each and every piece will differ slightly. As they are hand formed with roll pinned and hands they will not be perfect, but perfectly imperfect.
