Welcome to Janiemade and my little corner of Folksy where you can buy my crocheted creations. If you're looking for skilfully handmade gifts and home decor I hope you'll find something you love. I enjoy crocheting with natural fibres, mainly cotton, and many of my home decor items use recycled braided cotton cord or recycled cotton T shirt yarn. All items are ready to post and I only charge postage on your first item. Your order will be sent by Royal Mail 2nd class post.

I've recently discovered crocheting with chunky T-shirt yarn and I'm loving making baskets and containers with it. I love how you can clearly see every stitch that went into creating an item and it's a nice change to make something in 3D that's not a toy!
Designing and making this bowl took me right back to pottery classes at school using coils of clay to make little pots and bowls, this way is much less messy!

Full description
A small crocheted bowl in an olive green shade made with a super chunky T-shirt yarn. The yarn is 90% cotton and its production helps tackle the waste produced by the fashion industry by recyling it into new textile yarn. The whole recycling process is dye- and water-free.
The T-shirt yarn gives great definition to the crochet stitches used to create it. I used waistcoat stitch for the side of this bowl which takes longer to do but gives a different pattern and looks like knitting. It makes the bowl extra sturdy so that it keeps its shape well.
It's just the right size to pop your car keys and spare change in, or a useful little bowl to have on your dressing table or in your bathroom. You could even use it to hold a few sweets, ready for when you need a little treat!
Measurements: Approximately 12cm in diameter and 6cm in height.
Care instructions: I recommend a gentle surface clean with a damp cloth to remove dust but item may be carefully washed by hand at 30C, reshape whilst damp. Do not bleach; Do not iron; Do not tumble dry.
