I have always loved the colour scheme of turquoise teal and gold, and highlighted with shades of oyster pearl this tea-light holder made me think of Monet’s waterlilies and so the design grew into what you see here. It took many days of careful painting to achieve a 3D effect of the paints which gives the piece a lovely tactile feel. The pattern continues to the underside of the tea-light holder as a seamless flow - I find this original and unique piece of art very soothing and evocative - a feeling which is enhanced by the addition of a gentle flame.
