Welcome to my Folksy shop, Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope a little virtual visit will raise a smile.
All orders are sent via 1st Class Royal Mail standard service. The postage costs applied reflect the protective packaging used to ensure your Utterly Pottery goodies arrive in tip top condition. Therefore, should you place an order rest assured, it will arrive beautifully wrapped and protected topped off with colourful tissue paper. Where possible I reuse and recycle plastic bubble wrap as I find it offers the best protection for my handmade and handpainted ceramics.
I’m always happy to add a handwritten gift note if you’d like to send the order directly to the recipient. Please include the message as you check out.
Many Thanks, Lucy
Have you ever muddled up your coriander and parsley? The results can be distinctively different in taste! My handmade ceramic markers were initially created for my family’s personal use.
Anyone who grows their own vegetables, herbs or plants of any kind will know how annoying traditional plastic markers can be. The pen fades, pesky pigeons pull them out and before you know it you’re left with lots of random mystery plants. Ceramic markers seem to solve these problems and ultimately they’re fun to make.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Made from white earthenware clay, these ceramic plant markers are handmade from start to finish. Initially the clay rolled out to form a flat smooth surface before each marker is cut by hand using a craft knife. The sides of the markers are gently smoothed to avoid sharp edges. The clay markers are laid flat to air dry for several days before being kiln fired to form bisqueware.
Next to the decorative bit, applying the herb, vegetable or plant names! Each marker is written by me and a simple decorative dot design is hand painted using a range of green underglazes. Finally the markers are dipped in a glossy transparent glaze and fired for the final time.
As each marker is handmade I am able to offer to individually personalise them allowing you to ‘pick your own’ herb, plant or vegetable name. Simply state the names you’d like my to make as you checkout.
Available individually as well as in sets of 4 or 6, these markers make ideal gifts for keen gardeners or foodies who love to grow their own herbs.
Each marker is approximately 2cm wide and 15-17cm long.
Please note: This item is ceramic, freezing temperatures and extreme weather conditions may cause damage.
Due to the handmade nature. and delicate making process, each individual marker is completely unique. Therefore the exact size and shape of each item may vary.
