Lapis lazuli is the alternative birthstone for September and the sign of Virgo.
It is a beautiful deep blue, flecked with golden Pyrite.
Cleopatra used powdered lapis lazuli for her signature deep blue/gold flecked eye-shadow.
It was used by Renaissance painters to make the very expensive pigment called "ultramarine"

Full description
Double stranded necklace featuring 6mm and 4mm lapis lazuli beads and sparkling Swarovski bicones in the colours "blue zircon" and "peridot".
The crystals are emphasised with tiny gold vermeil rounds.
The strands of lapis are attached each side via gold plated circular connectors to a string of miyuki glass seed beads in a colour mix called "metallic blue iris".
Finished with a gold vermeil trigger clasp.
Gold vermeil is sterling silver that has been gold plated, and the clasp is stamped "925".
The necklace measures approximately 18 inches (46cm) - this is the shortest strand.
Delivery is free within the UK.
Presented in a small organza bag.
