I was inspired to make greyhounds by their slim elegant features, wide range of colours and detail in their coats.
I always start by drawing from photographs, focusing on detail and characteristics then interpret them in my own style.

Full description
Slip cast in earthenware clay in a plaster piece mould I have produced from my original laying greyhound sculpture.
After a bisque firing I have hand painted the greyhound with underglaze colours black, white and various tones of grey, applying them using brushes and sponges to create a brindle pattern likeness.
Finally the greyhound has been finished in a clear gloss glaze and fired to a temperature just above 1100°c.
