I was inspired to make greyhounds by their slim elegant features, wide range of colours and details in their coat.
I always start by drawing from photographs, focusing on detail and characteristics then interpret them in my own style.

Full description
Slip cast in earthenware clay in a plaster piece mould I have produced from my original laying greyhound sculpture.
After a bisque firing the I hand paint the laying greyhound with brown, ochre, and white under glaze colours using brushes and sponges to achieve the brindle pattern of a greyhound.
The greyhound is finished in a clear gloss glaze and fired to a temperature just above 1100°c
This Brown & White Brindle Greyhound is an original hand painted design and makes a delightful ornamental figure.
