Hello! Welcome to my Folksy Art Shop.
I am an artist based in the West Midlands, UK, focusing mostly on small format original linocut prints and acrylic paintings.
I graduated from Birmingham Polytechnic in Graphic Design back in 1988 and have practised my art ever since. For a number of years I specialised in pen and ink drawings but over the past few years I have explored other media, and I'm always open to trying new materials and art forms.
Please be aware that there may still be delays in the postal system due to the virus. Overseas customers can check with the Royal Mail's website to see the status of deliveries overseas from the UK here:- https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5317/~/international-incident-bulletin
Thank you so much for your interest in my art.
This is an original Hand Pressed Linocut Print which I have hand coloured using water soluble coloured pencils.
It shows the single standing stone known as the King Stone, one of the 3 sets of standing stones which form the Rollright Stones. The stones stand near the village of Long Compton on the Oxfordshire/Warwickshire border in the Cotswolds, England.
I pressed this print using the back of a spoon.
This is the 1st in an edition of 4 original hand pressed prints. The print measures 8 inches x 4 inches and the paper is A4 (landscape orientation). I have created 4 small editions of this design, making 14 original prints in total.
It was printed using Cranfield Caligo Safe Wash Relief Ink (Linseed Oil Based) on watercolour paper. I hand coloured the print using Derwent Inktense and Faber-Castell Albrecht Dürer Water Soluble Coloured Pencils.
The print will come unframed and unmounted.
It will be packaged in a cellophane packet and wrapped in tissue.
I will send the print out to you via 1st class Royal Mail Standard Delivery or Standard International Delivery if sending overseas. I charge full postage for the highest priced item, then 20p for each other item mailed within the same envelope.
I usually pop a piece of card inside the envelope for added protection, this is cut down from recycled sources.
If you have any questions please ask me.
Thank you for looking!
I have made a series of prints showing the Rollrights, but this print differs from the others as instead of portraying a recreation of the stone and landscape I have combined and altered several viewpoints in an attempt to convey the solitary and enigmatic stone in a late summer landscape as I experienced it on the day I visited.
