What we often just think of as black speckled birds are actually little jewels of colour, especially when seen in the sunlight. Beautiful turquoise, pinks ,purples and greens. I was inspired to try to capture these colours with watercolour, the perfect medium to express the delicate hues of these exquisite birds.
i think the pose of this bird also hints at its cheeky, bold character.
