G'Day and welcome to my shop of jewellery delights! Due to the new EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) rules coming into force from 13 December, I will no longer be shipping to any EU country, which also includes Northern Ireland after this date. Although I ensure all the components I use in my jewellery are safe for consumers, I don't think my business can afford the EU agent that is required.
LAST POSTING DATES: UK - 14 DEC; REST OF WORLD - 1 DEC. Please note, I'm happy to post items after these dates, but delivery speeds can be reduced due to large volume of Christmas post, so Royal Mail cannot guarantee delivery before Christmas.

I'm always looking for unusual items to create jewellery and when I saw these lovely Japanese washi paper flower shapes, I just knew that they would look great on a necklace!

Here is a lovely statement necklace perfect for Summer, featuring some gorgeous birch plywood (FSC approved) flower shapes with pale pink and sea green patterned Japanese Washi paper, with gold metallic line are details.
Technically, washi paper is called Chiyogami paper, it is hand screen printed in Japan, each layer of colour added one at a time, then finally a layer of gold or silver metallic line art.
I've used five of these pretty daisies, added varnish for protection and secured them onto a semi circular curved plywood shape, that I have hand painted it on one side with a light sea green artists quality acrylic paint and used a semi-matte varnish on the front, then used a sea green shade of high shimmer metallic paint, that's full of mica! The back was coated with satin varnish to bring out that shine!
I've teamed this with a fine antique bronze plated chain (with a matching lobster clasp), that is approximately 24 inches (I can adjust the length if you would like it shorter).
The wooden part of the necklace measures 8 cm wide, by 4 cm high and will come to you carefully packaged in an eco-friendly pillow box, perfect for gifting to that nature lover of the fan of Japanese paper!
