Hello! Welcome to my Folksy Art Shop.
I am an artist based in the West Midlands, UK, focusing mostly on small format original linocut prints and acrylic paintings.
I graduated from Birmingham Polytechnic in Graphic Design back in 1988 and have practised my art ever since. For a number of years I specialised in pen and ink drawings but over the past few years I have explored other media, and I'm always open to trying new materials and art forms.
Please be aware that there may still be delays in the postal system due to the virus. Overseas customers can check with the Royal Mail's website to see the status of deliveries overseas from the UK here:- https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5317/~/international-incident-bulletin
Thank you so much for your interest in my art.
This little watercolour painting is a study of a veteran tree known as the 'Candelabra Oak' which has stood for many centuries in parkland at Croft Castle, Herefordshire.
The painting is created in a mixture of Winsor & Newton and Daler-Rowney professional Watercolour Paints over Daler-Rowney FW Acrylic Ink applied with a dip pen. The painting is on watercolour paper. I have mounted the painting within a window mount which I cut myself. I have taped the painting to the back of the mount using self-adhesive Kraft tape.
The painting measures approx. 6 inches x 5 inches and the mount measures 10 inches x 8 inches to fit a standard picture frame of this size.
I have initialled the painting in the bottom right corner as well as signing it on the back. I have also popped my signature in pencil on the back of the mount board. In addition I will enclose a small signed Certificate of Authenticity.
I will send the painting out to you well wrapped in bubble wrap and tissue paper and in rigid cardboard to protect the canvas. Some of the packaging might be cut down from a recycled source.
I will post this painting out to you using Royal Mail's First Class Signed For Delivery and International Signed For/Tracked if posting overseas.
Thank you for looking at my artwork.
If you have any questions please ask me.
Fine old trees like this should be cherished, they not only link us to the past but help clean the air around them, what they put out we breathe in - they are life sustaining forces and we are lucky to have them in our world.
