An illustration of the fairy boat by the wonderful Honor C Appleton was the insperation for this little piece. It lent itself perfectly to a little creature sailing on a fairytale adventure.

"The big adventure".
Bear decided that today he would like to sail the seven seas, so he jumped in his little boat and sailed on a big adventure.
Bear is hand and machine stitiched as well as hand painted on cotton with a tiny little metal crown on his head and button embellishments on each limb. He has his trusty compass and sissors for that "just in case" emergency. His little boat "The big adventure" is handmade in paper mache and handpainted in marine green and blue, fluttering from the mast are little paper postage stamp flags so his little sail boat will look smart on his journey.
This piece measures:23 x 19 cm approx.
