I had some little pieces of tweed fabric to use, too small to make a whole bag, and they were just crying out to be made in to something quirky. These cute little birds just went "tweed, tweed" at me!

So, a little birdie told me to do something with some lovely offcuts of tweed fabric that I have. And this is what I have come up with! A shoulder/crossbody handbag with an adjustable strap with tweed bird appliques and polkadot lining, this quirky but practical bag is packed with texture and pattern to brighten your day!
The birds are perched on a little bit of herringbone tweed for a branch (which is a tiny offcuts from some actual Harris Tweed), with some leaves embroidered using the free motion embroidery technique (which is like using your sewing machine as a pencil!). The birds have little button eyes which I think gives them a slightly quizzical expression.
Size: approx 27cm wide at the top x 28cm tall. This has a flattened base to give it some extra room to get wider items in, and is created from a double layer of fabric for the outer, plus a lining, for added durability. Zip closure, vintage slider buckle to adjust the straps.
