Full description
Real seashell pen made on Orkney. This two piece twist-pen is made with crushed periwinkle and limpet seashells and "Sea Glitter" from the Sands of Wright, South Ronaldsay. The resin has a dark green colour I call "Dark Kelp", similar to the thick kelp beds that grow in abundance around the Orkney coast. It gives the pen a dark, almost night-time appearance, when the predators that hunt the original inhabitants of the shells are most active. To create this exquisite pen, I first laid the fragments into a layer of liquid resin within the mould, then placed the chassis tube on top before pouring the rest of the binder. More seashell fragments were placed within the resin and compacted together, then left to cure. Every time you hold this pen, you will be holding a small piece of the beautiful Orkney Isles in your hand. The pen has chrome finished metal fittings and uses a Cross refill available anywhere. The pen is 135mm long, about 15mm diameter and weighs 40g.
The price includes post and packing.
