Full description
This unique pen is made using real limpet sea shells from Orkney held in a resin binder. I have used a clear resin to represent the water of the rock pools the living shellfish are found in at low tide. I love to spend time beach-combing, and I am blessed by the many beaches around our home on the Orkney Islands providing a plentiful supply of empty seashells.
Made with limpet shells, I created this pen by drilling the through the apex of the shells and threading them onto the chassis-tube, before covering them with the resin binder. When cured, the whole thing is turned on my lathe. This stunning little piece of Orkney has chrome finished metal fittings, is 135mm long, about 16mm diameter, weighs 41g and uses Cross refills, available everywhere.
The price includes post and packing.
