The scrolled decoration on the pendant is a unique, random pattern. Random in the sense that I have little, if any, control over the pattern once the pendant is in the kiln at red hot. My object is to draw through the coloured enamels scattered on the piece although, because they are red hot so not distinct from the rest of the piece. At the same time, the enamel is cooling and setting which will affect the way it responds to the steel point I use to draw the pattern. Being glass, the enamel will set smooth but may set uneven. This unevenness adds to the subtlety of the pattern. It will disturb the reflection and refraction of light on the pendant.
