I really enjoy the entire process of throwing and assembling mugs. This one has a homely feel and is reminiscent of the colour palette you might find in an modern abstract painting. This mug can be enjoyed while drinking your favourite tea or coffee blend. Equally it would make a personal decorative statement in a display cabinet and invites inquisitive handling.

A porcelain mug with variations of colour deriving from the melting of the glaze into the wheel-thrown texture marks. The blue-green glaze is darker where it is thicker. The small black splashes are from brush-applied iron oxide. This mug was thrown with a UK porcelain and assembled while still soft. After biscuit firing and glazing it was fired to 1300C to make it impermeable and durable. The mug is food, oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe and measures approximately 10cm tall and 8cm wide. The bottom is impressed with my seal, the letter P, and its identity number 9917.
