I thought I'd like to make these troughs as a Greener and more attractive alternative to the mass-produced plastic planters available in garden centres. I felt there was no point in being a gardener if I was not going to be Green. Natural stone troughs were very costly, and came with their own environmental issues. This is my solution.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
I don't ship outside of the UK, as I believe in shopping and selling locally to minimise the carbon-footprint, so if you live in another country, thanks for browsing my shop, but please don't ask to buy from me. You can probably find a craftsperson living nearer to you who would love to hear from you!
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
This low-slung trough is ideal for houseleeks (sempervivum), stonecrop (sedum) and other Alpine plants. It measures 46 cm x 35, and is 16 - 18 cm deep.
It is made from hypertufa, an eco-friendly material, made from natural minerals, that exactly recreates the limestone mountain habitat loved by these sculptural little plants.
Carved by hand and lovingly finished on every face, this planter looks exactly as though it has been hewn straight from the mountainside. Unlike natural limestone, however, no actual ecosystems were harmed in the making of this product!
It's also lighter in weight than you'd expect from quarried stone, so much easier to handle and position.
Just as with hewn stone, no two are ever exactly alike.
There are four drainage holes as standard. You can order one without drainage if you prefer, and can wait for a couple of weeks
I ship my troughs in eco-friendly packaging - traditional straw and re-used cardboard. I'm happy to swap the straw for packing paper, if you'd prefer. The important thing is - no plastics!
