Formerly 'Buttons, Beads and Blanket Stitch'.

My work predominantly comprises hand cut and burnished lino prints, with sewing playing an occasional part.

Whether working in print or in stitch, I am inspired by the natural world and the people around me, with words/text frequently playing an integral part.

* I endeavour to represent my pieces as clearly and with colours as true to life as possible, however some slight variations in tone between the image on screen and the piece itself may occur.*

Fresh flowers make such a beautiful gift, but how lovely to give or receive a bunch of everlasting blooms!

Full description

The inspiration for this print was a beautiful bunch of flowers from my children; gorgeous roses and gerberas for a Mother’s Day gift.

On from my initial sketches, my final design was transferred onto lino which I hand cut and then hand burnished in a bold black ink onto a beautiful warm cream coloured Japanese Kitakata (SH16) paper. The paper measures approx. 21.5cm x 26.5cm, with the printed image itself measuring approx. 15cm x 20cm.

Each of this open ended edition is numbered, titled, signed and dated and having been printed by hand, slight variations from print to print will occur; such is the beauty of a unique, hand crafted piece.

Your print will be posted to you wrapped in tissue with a back board and packaged in a cardboard envelope.
