Jewellery boxes are made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue. Jewellery box inserts are made from tall oil, a by-product of wood pulp industry. All paper, card, glue, inks and delivery boxes used are made from recycled materials.
I love collecting, especially things that have been discarded. Anything that looks lost, forgotten or damaged and not wanted any more. Favourite places of mine to discover bits is rivers or beaches. I am lucky to live near the River Tees, Co Durham and often walk the banks picking up broken glass, pottery anything that can be cleaned and re-created into something new. I love recycling centres and charity shops where I can find an old pot or plate, so many interesting pieces, bits and bobs of lives all waiting to find new homes.
For me using shards of ceramic found in rivers is interesting, exciting and a passion. I love the entire experience from walking, looking, peering into the water and discovering bits and bobs of all sorts. I’ve found many strange and amazing things. All shards used have a letter F for family and S for Shards and a number that relates to order of process.

Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Additional terms
Shards Hand crafted Jewellery and framed artworks using pre loved and discarded ceramics. Ceramic material will show signs of wear. Entire process is a creative experience from discovery to final picture, nothing planned or preconceived. All materials personally collected from river banks, charity shops, roadside, woods, recycle centres, beaches, wherever dropped, dumped or donated ceramics are found, cleaned and shaped into new stories. Each titled piece comes with bio of where the ceramic came from, known history, original information and when the artwork was created. Some ceramics collected are used as found, while others are cut randomly which will shape the final picture. Every piece is individual, nothing replicated, however, due to repetitive patterns in ceramics there will be some similarity but only through the ceramic material not in the final piece.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.

Created from ceramic plate discovered July 2020
Re-Created into pin brooch December 2020
In July 2020 I bought a box of broken ceramics from a recycling centre in Barnard Castle, Co Durham. It was filled with chipped and cracked plates perfect for trying out new ideas.
I clipped the plates with a small tile cutter and allowed shapes to form naturally. A lot of shards were formed, all sorts of sizes and thickness. These earrings are made from shards created from the stand ring of a large brown patterned plate. The glaze is in tact and although not the same they are alike in shape and come from the same area of the plate.
The idea is to create something new from old, it's not meant to be perfect or highly polished.
Delivered in gift box with gift bag made from recycled materials and short bio.
Lovely unique dangly earrings, sterling silver 925 fish hooks.
