PLEASE NOTE
I AM UPDATING PRODUCT BOXES FOR JEWELLERY AND DECORATIONS WHICH WILL TAKE AWHILE, IF YOU PURCHASE YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR ORDER IN THE NEW BOXES AS DESCRIBED BELOW.
Jewellery boxes are made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue. Jewellery box inserts are made from tall oil, a by-product of wood pulp industry. All paper, card, glue, inks and delivery boxes used are made from recycled materials.
The idea is to create something new from old, found by chance, full of history and character. To present and deliver unique Eco Friendly gifts in Sustainable Packaging.
I love collecting ceramic discarded, lost, forgotten, damaged or just not wanted any more. Favourite places are rivers and beaches, but also find great things at recycling centres and charity shops. I’m lucky to live near the River Tees, Co Durham and often walk the banks picking up broken glass, pottery anything that can be cleaned and re-worked and crafted into something new. Bits and bobs found by chance waiting to find new homes.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Additional terms
All ceramic personally collected from river banks, charity shops, recycle centres, beaches, wherever dropped, dumped or donated ceramics are found, cleaned and shaped into new stories. Each item comes with a short bio. Every piece is individual, nothing replicated, however, due to repetitive patterns in ceramics there will be some similarity but only through the ceramic material not in the final piece. Ceramic will show marks, scratches and imperfections, all part of its history and journey.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.

Ceramic Shard Discovered
The River Tees August 2020
Handcrafted into
Pendant November 2024
In August 2020 while out walking I found a striking piece of ceramic in the water of Thorsgill Beck, The River Tees, Abbey Road, Barnard Castle. Lovely August day, the stream was running low and I could see this shard laid flat in shallow water.
The shard is weather worn, stained and looks like it’s seen quite a few years. After a thorough clean I managed to create a pendant in December 2020 but always wanted to work on it again.
This is a particular favourite shard, double sided pattern with beautiful stained crackle glaze. I have now handcrafted it into a more formed pendant, making the striking blue leaf pattern the focus and the back shows some blue with crackle glaze.
The idea is to create something new from old, found by chance and truly unique.
The finished piece isn't meant to be perfect. Instead, retain marks, stains and scratches, part of the original character of the ceramic.
Delivered in gift box made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue. Presented on Jewellery box insert made from tall oil, a by-product of paper production. Sustainable gifts, complete with short bio and gift bag.
The pendant is hanging on a black woven cord, 44 cm with sterling silver clasp.
