I love purse shaped handbags, they are so cute and vintagey. I imagined this one with pearl decoration and had great fun painting all the pearl tassels at different angles and I just felt the black needed the little red relief across the top to highlight how that part of the bag is rigid against the softer part. A plain light and bright background was all that was required. My handbag addiction will be eased for a while, now I have painted this one!

Full description
Handbag in black velvet featuring 2 scalloped rows of pearls on the purse shape bag with pearl tassels attached to the bottom. There are pearl chains as handles. The clasp is a ball twist and there are 2 rows of small red beads across the rigid top. The background is a plain rich cream. I painted this in my Norfolk studio, it is mounted, simply framed in lime-washed wood and ready for you to hang. The overall measurement is 38cm square and the internal image is 24cm square. I call this one 'Black Velvet Bag'. A dainty vintage inspired bag for you.
