I have very happy memories of my grandparents 2 up 2 down cottage by the river in Coltishall. There was no running water, the water pump was in the middle of the 3 cottages, we were on the end and there was an outside loo. I used to stay there as a child and it was idyllic. The walls were white washed downstairs but I have vague impressions of the wallpaper upstairs. I have tried to re create that worn, distressed and faded look. I have a book of Victorian stencils and included one of those images too. I have loved the deign process on this pair of paintings.

Full description
White poppies shabby chic painting features 2 groups of white poppies with grey detailing and 2 rows of Victorian stencil images. The background is a mottled, streaky combination of mint green, butter cream and grey to resemble old, faded wallpaper. I painted this in my Norfolk studio, it is mounted, elegantly framed in lime-washed wood and ready for you to hang. The overall measurements are 59cm x 46cm and the internal image measures 40cm x 28cm. I have called this one 'Shabby Chic Poppies II'. This is one of a pair and they are one of my favourites, I hope you can find a good home for them.
