I received some water-soluble pencils for my birthday and I had never used them before, actually I haven't really used them after this pair of paintings but I did enjoy the bold line effect. It reminded me of stained glass so this is how I have depicted these gerbera but crowding the flower heads into a smaller square section gave a contemporary twist to the composition.

Full description
Orange gerbera painting features 4 dynamic gerbera heads with thick, dark soluble watercolour pencil outline around everything. The centres are bold and the stems are in burnt sienna. The cream background is quite plain so as to focus the eye on the central subjects. I painted this in my Norfolk studio and it is mounted, elegantly framed in lime-washed wood and ready for you to hang. The painting measures 34cm square. It would add a bright and bold, contemporary pop of colour to your room or gift it to someone special. I call this one 'Stained glass Gerbera I'.
