I love painting poppies, I have so many sketches if them. They always remind me of cycle rides with my grandad around the Norfolk country lanes. He knew everything about nature and I adored him. He was in the 1st world war of course. I can't imagine him there, surviving mustard gas and heaven knows what else. He was such a quiet, gentle and kind man. I always wear my poppy with pride. This painting is for you, grandad I miss you.

Full description
Red poppies in Norfolk is my original watercolour painting featuring red poppies and buds dancing in the dewy grass. The misty background fades up to the blue Norfolk sky. I created this piece in my Norfolk studio and it is unframed but mounted and sealed. The overall measurements are 40.5cm x 31.5cm and the internal image is 28cm x 19cm. This delicate and bright painting would make an ideal gift or keep a little slice of Norfolk for yourself. Alternately, keep both this one and it's pair to enjoy. I call this 'Grandad's Poppies II'.
