When I was a child my grandad would cycle around the countryside with me on a small seat on the back and then, later on my own little bike. He knew everything about nature and I adored him. I put the buttercups in my painting because he would always pick one and put it under my chin 'to see if I liked butter'. They would often grow in the hedgerows and meadows along side these wild white flowers which grandad called soldier buttons.

Full description

White wild flowers growing in the dewy Norfolk grass with buttercups. The background is a hazy mix of yellows and pinks with a blue sky above. These dainty flowers grow wild in my local countryside and my grandad always called them 'soldier buttons'.

I created this painting in my Norfolk studio. It is mounted and framed in simple lime-washed wood and ready for you to hang. The overall measurement is 51cm x 31cm and the internal image is 34cm x 22cm. I call this one 'Norfolk Soldier Buttons' II. Bring a touch of the countryside into your living space or gift it to someone wild at heart.
