I really enjoy pressing different textures into the clay when it's wet, and the result after glazing and firing is a lovely tactile piece. Washing different colours across the texture is produces lots of interesting variations.

Full description
These hearts have a pattern stamped into the wet clay, reminiscent of ripples on water. I have then added a soft wash of black. These earrings are from a range of coordinating colourful heart-shaped accessories. As with all my jewellery they are made and decorated entirely by hand.
After forming the drops from fine white clay, I imprint my design. When dry, I sand the back and sides and round off any corners to ensure they are super smooth. They then have their first firing. Next I paint them using under-glazes and apply a transparent glaze before firing again to earthenware. Being glazed all over they are smooth against the skin whilst retaining the texture of the imprinted design. The result is a pleasantly tactile item.
The drops are attached to sterling silver ear-wires.
This is a one-off listing, the earrings in the photographs are the actual pair you will receive.
The hearts are approximately half an inch, 14mm, long, plus rings and wires.
All my jewellery comes in a hand-stamped box.
