This is my crested tit hand embroidery. I normally use free motion embroidery, but while I was travelling Europe without my sewing machine, I did some hand embroideries.
I saw the crested tits on a walk in the Hautes-Alpes region in France.
This is hand embroidered with my regular sew all threads that I use on my machine - fine threads.
The piece is stretched and framed in a hoop and then I hand stitch a felt backing onto the rear of the hoop, along with my Emma Gatehouse label, so that it's all tidied up.
A beautiful piece of textile art work for your wall.
The hoop is approx 16cm / 6 inches.
