I have taken the last few months off from woodturning to concentrate on my botanical water colour work a few examples of which you can view on my Instagram account. However, I have picked up the chisels again and will be adding new items and old favourites. The latest additions are two attractive sycamore drinks trays but more items to come.
I wanted to make two pieces that would complement each other. The Sycamore that I have lends itself to this idea. This one was to be have the curvaceous appearance.

Full description
This bowl has been turned in Sycamore The piece is then burnished and finally given a matting wax finish to give a mellow glow. I have given the bowl gentle curves and a shallow scalloped rim.
