Item details
Proseprints is keen to be green, our printed greeting cards are on recycled paper, with bio-degradable cellos, we use paper based packaging and are introducing non-plastic packaging for protecting artwork. We also support a local conservation charity, donating money from the sales of our cards and artwork.
This painting is inspired by a short story by Dylan Thomas 'A child's Christmas in Wales'. There is a lovely section that starts 'Years and years and years ago, when I was a boy, when there were wolves in Wales, and birds the colour of red-flannel petticoats whisked past the harp-shaped hills ...' The birds in the story reminded me of the chough, with their wonderfully bright red legs and beaks, I added a castle for good measure, the one in the picture is at Laugharne where Dylan Thomas lived and wrote.
We have linked up with a local environmental charity - Torrington Commons Conservators - and donate £5 from the sale of every print.
