Full description
Fused glass flower dish, handmade in my garden studio. Each of the ten petals has been hand cut from a sheet of white opaque glass. I've cut the petals with scalloped edges and arranged around a disc of black glass, which I scattered with chips of black glass to give the appearance of seeds. The base of the petals has been dusted with burnt orange and marigold yellow glass powders, with a sprinkling of dark orange fine-crushed glass. The pieces were first fired in my kiln to fuse them together and then refired over a mould to give the final shape. Each firing process takes nearly a full day before the piece is cool enough to remove from the kiln.
The plate is 16.5cm in diameter and a maximum of 3.5cm high.
Ideal for gifting, and suitable for trinkets, sweets, or just for display.
I'm making a series of these floral dishes in different colours, so if you don't see a colour you like, do pop back for another look in a few days.
