Nothing says 'I love you' quite like a kiss, or so my kissing couple think.
I stitched this little textile art piece from one of my sketches. I love the free hand feel that free motion embroidery gives and thought it perfect for this quirky mini textile picture.
It features a girl with a fringed bob and a freshly shaven boy kissing under a red stitched love heart. I used white and grey polka dot cottons for the base and stitched using black thread with red details picked out of the girl's hair bow and love heart. I've created a frame within a frame by stitching a curvy border around the couple and carefully cutting out with small scissors.
The actual embroidery measures 8cm x 6cm and is mounted and framed in a white acrylic frame measuring 20cm x 20cm.
This would be the ideal Valentine's gift, or would also be perfect as an engagement or anniversary gift.
