Orthoceras framed Fossil. A lovely fossil presented in a glass fronted wood framed deep box frame, ready to hang and display.
This lovely picture is a white wooden framed, recessed and glass fronted 3D picture, which has a single Orthoceras fossil as its main feature.
Orthoceras are the fossilized remains of an extinct marine animal of Cephalopod family. They are ancestors to the modern day squid and octopus and are dated to the Devonian Period about 400 million years ago.
The frame for the picture is a simple and unfussy creamy white painted wooden frame. The back has the fitments for hanging the picture, or if you have a tripod you could free stand the picture, the choice is yours as to how you would like to display the item.
I have adhered the feature Orthoceras Fossil to a white backing to keep the picture as fussy as possible to not detract from the stunning Orthoceras specimen. I have used recycled materials for backing behind the Orthoceras to help them sit securely within the frame.
The Frame itself is square and the outer measures approx 13cms by 13cms, with a depth of approx 3.5cms.
Fossil and fossil hunting are a real passion for myself and my family and I have many individual fossils, but really wanted to make a statement piece for display!
