This listing is for 'artists proofs' of "After the rain" lino cut by Suffolk printmaking artist Beth Knight.
'Artists proofs' means that they are test prints which may differ slightly from the final edition or they may have slight defects which mean they weren't good enough to be sold as the final edition. The photos represent any defects, mainly areas of poor ink coverage, where the black areas may appear slightly stippled rather than solid black. These defects are reflected in the reduced price.
Each one is an original lino cut print which has been hand printed by printmaking artist Beth Knight on archival quality paper using light fast ACMI certified inks. Hand signed and labelled as 'proof'.
Image size 7.5cmx11.5cm (3x4.5inch) on paper sized 15x21cm (6x8inch) approx.
Beth Knight creates small editions of hand printed lino cuts inspired by her local Suffolk scenes and also the wilds of Wales where she grew up. Her images convey the spirit of the natural world and the history and story of the landscape. Dogs and other favourite animals also feature in her work, capturing the movement and character of an individual animal with carefully thought out lines and shapes.
Packaged in a recyclable clear polypropylene bag.
