Hello! Welcome to my Folksy Art Shop.
I am a UK based artist living in the West Midlands where I produce the original linocut prints and paintings. My work is inspired by all the lovely places I have travelled to and collected photo's and memories of over the years. Nature and landscape are 2 of my biggest inspirations.
I graduated from Birmingham Polytechnic in Graphic Design back in 1988 and have practised my art ever since. For a number of years I specialised in pen and ink drawings but over the past few years I have explored other media, and I'm always open to trying new materials and art forms.

Christmas isn't Christmas without a Poinsettia in our hallway. I have experimented with the materials I used to create this print and the result is a surface that reminds me a little of a ceramic tile, due to the shiny texture of the gum arabic used here.

Full description
This is a hand pressed reduction linocut print of a Poinsettia, a flower often associated with the festive season.
I created this print at home using the back of a spoon.
This is print number 2 of an edition of 3.
The artwork is printed in Schmincke Horadam Gouache, Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolour and Winsor & Newton Gum Arabic on Fabriano Accademia Artist's Paper (160gsm). I have lightened the background texture surrounding the flower using Caran d'Ache Luminance Coloured Pencil.
In addition to this edition of 3 I have also created a small edition of 9 prints using different pigment and a lighter floral colour scheme.
This print measures 4 inches by 4 inches. The paper is hand cut to approx. A5 (portrait orientation).
The print will come unmounted and unframed.
I will mail it out to you in a cellophane packet with a small signed Certificate of Authenticity.
